Description

The participants emerge from the course able to demonstrate specialised technical and theoretical knowledge, with some depth in Civil and Structural Engineering. This program is designed to meet the specialised needs of industry. On successfully completing the total of 18 units of competency, students will graduate with the Diploma of Civil and Structural Engineering.

Graduates of the Diploma of Civil and Structural Engineering will be able to:
- Apply knowledge, skills, modern tools and techniques in the defined civil engineering discipline
- Use software to draw basic steel and concrete drawings
- Conduct basic calculations for structures and fluids
- Conduct simple test and experiments in fluids, strength of materials and soils
- Communicate effectively through verbal, written, technical and graphical presentations
- Apply professional standards, code of practices, regulations and norms for planning and designing of projects in civil engineering.
- Ensure effective use of resources in the context of environment sustainability and applicable occupational safety and health.
- Demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a team
