State Implementation and Classification
Description
To provide a certificate through which the existing competencies and skills of
people working (or wanting to work in the school system) in various capacities
in schools can be recognised and credited.
To enable learners to acquire skills and knowledge necessary to increase their
effectiveness in schools and provide a pathway to further education.
To provide a flexible program of study to address the professional development
needs of people working in schools (or those wanting to work in schools).

4. ELECTIVES
Learners select two units from Strand I and one unit from each of Strands II and III. STRAND I In Strand I, First Aid Certificate I and Driver’s Licence Training are able to be selected. Combined they are equal to one unit. First Aid Certificate I is Curriculum determined by St John Ambulance Association for the Senior First Aid Certificate completed over three days of on-site instruction by an officer from the Association. Driver’s Licence Training I provides the learner with the skills and expertise required to complete the Learner’s Permit and Driver’s Licence test for an “A” class driver’s licence. These two course are to be completed in the learner’s own time.
