State Implementation and Classification
Description
The course will provide quality training for persons who are employed in, or
seek to be employed in the Metalliferous Mining Industry. The areas of
training are based on key competencies, extended to essential mine related
activities and proceed to allow for specialisation into specific areas.
It will provide:

specific skills and knowledge as specified by the Acts and Regulations
pertaining to the working of the mine

specific skills and knowledge in safe workplace procedures and
practices

specific skills and knowledge pertaining to mine related activities.
Vocational Outcomes
This course provides the skills and knowledge required for employment at a
basic operative level in specific areas of the metalliferous mining industry.
There is no link identified between the levels of the training program and
industrial award classifications.
