State Implementation and Classification
Description
To provide the skills and knowledge required to
manage turf.
To develop the skills and attitudes necessary to
work safely and efficiently.
To develop skills and knowledge necessary for the
construction, development, and maintenance of turf
areas, surrounds and associated areas.
To provide the knowledge and skills needed to
operate and maintain machinery and equipment
normally associated with Turf Management.
To provide the confidence necessary to carry out the
duties in managing turf.

apprentice must reach a pass standard in each subject.
However, failure in a subject in semesters one to five
may be redeemed by a pass at a privileged re-examination
in that subject and which may include both theoretical
and practical assessment.
A Supplementary examination is available after semester
six on the recommendation of the study area. The
practical assessment component must be passed before a
recommendation can be made.
NEW APPRENTICE TRAINING AND ASSESSMENT SCHEME
For an apprentice to be eligible for a DEPARTMENT
OF EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING TRADE CERTIFICATE, the
apprentice must have achieved the competencies as
determined by the rules of the appropriate Trade Training
Schedule (TTS).
Achievement of College listed competencies for each
apprentice, as listed in the TTS, is to be recorded on
the appropriate Trade Training Schedule Assessment forms.
The Division of Industrial Training (DIT) will require a
completed College assessment report at the conclusion of
the apprentice's College training. This report is to be
forwarded to DIT prior to the close of College business
in the year of completion.
