Description
This Pre-Apprenticeship course is aimed at preparing a student's competence in Flat Glass Working practices so that at the completion of all the basic and trade units the student will be able to seek employment (apprenticeship) in the Flat Glass industry.
On gaining employment (indenture of apprenticeship) in the Flat Glass industry, this course will allow the student to progress into the trade course Certificate III in Glass and Glazing.
Schedule
1. CORE
The course comprises nine (9) basic skills modules and four (4) trade skills modules. To be awarded the Certificate II in Furnishing (Flat Glass Working), the student must satisfactorily complete all 13 modules PLUS 120 hours of industry experience (practical placement module.) The basic skills modules should be completed early in the course to provide the student with skills and knowledge to complete the trade modules. The trade modules may be completed in any order.
