Description

The Advanced Diploma of Fashion and Textile Design provides training for fashion designers, textile and accessory designers or craft designer / makers. The qualification develops unique approaches for a customised market, as well as individual creative resources to interpret current trends. Research and observation, experimentation and evaluation lead to skills in key areas of contemporary design practice.

The program develops expertise in concept development, design problem-solving, creative strategies and contingency management, holistic project management, application of materials and methods, as well as integrating theory with practice: all of which are required for contemporary design practice. Participants each develop unique garment ranges including textiles and accessories, which are shown to the public and the fashion design industry at the end of the program. Industry projects and competitions are a feature of the course.
