State Implementation and Classification
Description
To teach participants to become volunteer tutors in adult literacy and numeracy. The learners will be provided with some beginning strategies and skills to assess students, prepare and plan a lesson and tutor a learner on a one-to-one basis.
To enable learners to:
- identify key tenets of adult literacy and numeracy teaching theory
- discuss the advantages of using a whole language (including a
language experience) approach
- demonstrate an ability to select, access and develop effective
strategies and resources for their learner.
