This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to implement, from a given design file, digital circuits on programmable logic devices (PLD). The unit includes planning for and programming a PLD and verifying the digital circuit functionality.
This unit of competency applies to a person working in a commercial technology environment where programmable logic devices are required for a range of electronic control applications.
The unit is also suitable for persons preparing to work in a technology environment and is suitable for use in a secondary school program with an appropriate level of supervision and support.
