Description
To provide the learner with the basic principles and methods necessary to
establish and maintain plant cell and plant tissue cultures.

Range of Variables
This module may be offered on or off-the-job.
For full-time learners, the module hours should be sequenced over a semester to
ensure adequate time for skills development. Where delivery is via block
release, a minimum time of nine weeks is recommended and some modification may
need to be made to Learning Outcome 3.
As this module has a significant laboratory component, delivery strategies must
ensure integration of knowledge and laboratory skills.
Learners with concurrent relevant workplace experience should be considered for
recognition of prior learning, and teaching strategies adjusted accordingly.
