Evidence Guide
Internal Assessment 100%
Satisfactory participation in work experience
activity
(Participation may be measured by various criteria, e.g. attendance,
punctuality, presentation, participation in activities, initiative in use of
time, co-operative attitude, etc. Assessed by employers/students together, if
possible). 50%
A written report/evaluation of the work
experience by the student
May include:
- a statement of the goal or intention of the placement, at
the outset
- a summary or overview of placement activities
- a conclusion or review of how adequately the placement
achieved its goals. Discussion of the factors influencing progress of the
placement.
Note: A student's experience may have been fraught with difficulties,
however, success of the placement should be measured by the student's
response/reaction to such difficulties. 25%
If appropriate, attendance at work experience
tutorials/information and de-briefing session.
Alternatively, regular entries in a log book or
diary of activities, maintenance of an organised
file. 25%
Students deemed unsatisfactory may repeat the
placement in their own time (e.g. in holidays,
etc.). Students do not need to pass each piece of assessment - but each
piece must be submitted.
* Work experience activity may include task performance, project work,
work shadowing, observation processes, work creation scheme, work simulation or
a combination of these.
