Description
To provide learners with a knowledge and understanding of the fundamental
principles, concepts and calculation skills necessary in the analysis of two
dimensional and three dimensional frames as well as providing hands-on
experience with sophisticated frame analysis computer software packages.
Range of Variables
This module contains learning outcomes that require theory instruction under
standard drawing room conditions and practical instruction. The theory
component will be assessed at the end of the instructional period when learners
are required to sit for a closed book theory test.

The practical component requires access to a computer and suitable structural
analysis applications. A structural frame analysis project requiring the use
of a ocmputer will be assessed. It is necessary to pass individually the
practical component and the theory component to pass the module.
