Industrial Chemical Analysis, Combustion Safeguards,
Instrument Process Drawing, Distributed Control, and
Programmable Control.

Theory Module Tests - continuous
cumulative assessment of module tests. Each module
objective theory test mark requires a 70%
pass. Each module written answer test require 50% pass. Final objective module
mark to be scaled back to 50% for Certificate of Trade Studies result.

Awarded Marks

The criteria for assessment of the Day/Block Release
course, are:

Theory

Modular Tests 50% Semester
Examination 30%
Assignment 20%

The 50% theory criteria will be met, by averaging
the marks achieved in all theory tests, laid down in
the TE78, for each subject module listed, in the
schedule of subjects. A pass is required.

The Semester Test of 30% will be achieved, by the
student, completing a combined test of all modules
learnt in this semester of training. A pass of 50%
written, 70% objective is required.

The 20% assignment criterion will be met, by
cumulative continuous assessment, of the student's
nominated assignments and file. Assessment will be
on the basis of presentation, technical content,
grammar and spelling. A pass is required.

Practical

A satisfactory mark in the practical skills area.

A satisfactory mark in the practical area will be
met, by the student, achieving a pass, by continuous
cumulative assessment, in the nominated practical
projects.

Five final practical tests, on work studied in Instrument Fitting App 1A, 1B,
2A, 2B, 3A and 3B, will be conducted in Examination week, each test a maximum
time of 40 minutes. A pass is required.

Final Practical Assessment will be made, by
averaging the cumulative assessment Pass and Final
Practical Tests Pass.

Privileged Re-Examination

A privileged re-examination may be offered by the
Superintendent of the study area, acting on advice
from the relevant Board of Review.

In general, it is recommended that only one re-test,
for a given module, be offered within the course
attendance period (where time permits). Any
subsequent re-testing in tutorial periods, will be
at the discretion of the college.
