This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to install, test and verify correct operation of a by-wire control system.

It requires the ability to plan for the installation of a by-wire control system, installing the system in accordance with job instructions and diagnostic testing and verification of the control systems’ functionality.

This unit applies to a person working in an industry where by-wire technology is utilised for a range of control applications.

The unit is also applies to a person preparing to work in a technology environment and is suitable for use in a secondary school program with an appropriate level of supervision and support.
