Description
To provide drilling personnel with the skills and knowledge to be able to
organise their own work schedule and participate effectively as a team member.
Range of Variables
Delivery will take place in a conducive learning environment. Strategies
should be selected to reflect the nature of the learning outcomes and the needs
of the learners. Some areas of content may be common to more than one learning
outcome and therefore integration may be appropriate.

Methods of training can include:

- face-to-face instruction at site by drillers, supervisors etc where
training and assessment is provided in accordance with endorsed workplace
training category 1 competency standards, and/or

- off-site instruction either in-company, training institution or
externally by open learning.

The main focus of this course is the learning outcomes of these experiences and
not the how, when or where the learning occurred. Some people entering the
course may already be competent in one or more of the learning outcomes and
should therefore be given the opportunity to apply for recogn

Assessment methods include:

- Simulation or practical exercises
- Group assessment of a simulation
- Written short answer questions
- Project.

This module is to be assessed internally using competence as a measure of
achievement. Assessment should be undertaken in an environment conducive to
learning with access to relevant sources of information, supervision and
support appropriate to the conditions and assessment criteria specified for
each of the learning outcomes.
