Description
To give students competence in the design and
evaluation of the use of parks and gardens.
To present and evaluate the role of parks and
gardens in the recreational and social development
of the community.
To provide the student with the skills and knowledge
necessary to conduct and park user surveys,
interpret results and assist with other surveys to
develop objectives for parks and recreation areas.
To present and evaluate functional and safety
aspects of park features and facilities.
To enable students to prepare proposal sketch plans
(in the standard form) of small parks and
playgrounds.
To develop consultative skills to enable students to consult with community
groups and other interested groups on park design and safety.
