Description
To provide learners with:
Module 4/7: Industrial Roof Installation
- An ability to identify and select roof cladding and insulation
materials suitable for industrial and commercial buildings.
- An ability to correctly identify roof claddings and insulation
materials suitable for designated roofing tasks.
- A detailed knowledge of regulations, standards and associated codes of
practice applicable to roof claddings (including AS 1562, AS 1170 and AS 2180).
- A detailed knowledge of the installation requirements for roof
claddings and insulation materials for industrial and commercial buildings and
a practical understanding of installation methods and techniques.
- A comprehensive revision of the requirements for safe work on roofs.
- A demonstrated ability to correctly and safely install roof claddings
and insulation materials to comply with end users’ and manufacturers’
recommendations and specifications on a wide range of actual/simulated
industrial and commercial building roofs, including:
- flat roofs
- curved roofs
- simple hip roofs
- multi-profile roofs.
- A comprehensive revision of protective clothing/equipment requirements
and OH&S requirements applicable to installation of roof claddings and
insulation materials.
