This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to plan, install and configure a home entertainment system. This includes interconnecting domestic video, audio and control equipment to create an integrated home entertainment system.

This unit of competency applies to person working as a freelance technician or for an enterprise providing entertainment systems installation and maintenance services to customers/clients.

The unit is also suitable for persons preparing to work in a technology environment and is suitable for use in a secondary school program with an appropriate level of supervision and support.
