Description
This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to produce simple two‐dimensional (2D) and three-dimensional (3D) building and construction drawings using computer‐aided design (CAD) software with the use of existing drawing templates. The unit includes using basic 2D and 3D CAD skills to produce and edit simple 2D and 3D drawings, plotting the drawings, creating and modifying 3D models of simple buildings, and saving and backing up CAD files.

The unit of competency is applied by new entrants to non-trade roles in the building and construction industry who are required to use these skills in a building and construction company, or working for a builder, surveyor, engineer, estimator or drafting service.

No licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.
