To provide sufficient knowledge and skills to enable learners to interpret why
particular chemicals or items of apparatus have been chosen for use in the
workplace.
Range of Variables
This module is to be delivered off-the-job and may be attempted by a variety of
modes.

Ideally, for full-time learners, the module should be sequenced over a semester
to ensure adequate time for skill acquisition and intermodule reinforcement.

Alternatively, if delivery is concentrated in shorter blocks, learners ill
require prior access to open learning materials covering all practical and
theoretical aspects of the module. It is recommended that eight to ten blocks
would be necessary to ensure that the learner can attain the learning outcomes.
