To provide training to assist in the care for, and promote the development of,
children with special needs.

This module could be delivered either through an open learning mode or in a
group learning context. The attitudinal nature of this module makes it
essential that delivery involves some tutorial participation.
The focus of this module is the application of theoretical knowledge and
practical care giving skills to provide care for children with special needs,
under the direction of a trained teacher.
A principle of this module is the recognition acceptance and respect for
individual differences during all stages of human development. Delivery of
this module should support gender inclusive and anti-bias values.
The assessment methods for this module are off-the-job and do not require
practical application.
