This module may be provided on or off-the-job and is suitable for face-to-face
delivery in a structured occupationally safe and health learning environment or
by flexible delivery through external, mixed mode, technology or multi-media
based systems. Adaptation of this module for alternative delivery modes
outside of the Public Health Sector will require additional learning resources
for delivery and assessment which incorporate case studies and practical
applications of the principles and concepts outlined.

In whatever mode is selected for provision or access purposes, strategies
should be selected to reflect the nature of the learning outcomes and the needs
of the learners. Although the module is substantially knowledge or
theory-based, it is required to be supported by case studies and practical
workplace applications of the principles and concepts for assessment purposes.

accordance with the assessment criteria and assessment methods for quality
audit purposes as required.

Assessment methods:

- Multiple-choice and written short-answer questions to assess
knowledge of key concepts, terminology and nomenclature

- Practical exercises to assess competency in terms of problem solving
and practical application of Quality Improvement strategies in terms of how
these strategies play an integral part in the provision of health care, and the
development of a Quality Improvement Plan for a health service.
