Description
To increase the skill of taking dictation and
transcribing shorthand notes, given a four-minute
passage at 90 wpm or 110 wpm which complies with
Australian Standard 2907.

The assessment/s must take place under officially
controlled conditions.

The student is required to be assessed in accordance
with Australian Standard 2907 when at the required
level (90 wpm or 110 wpm. Attempts on different
pieces (which are recorded as having been read) may
be required until the student has met Australian
Standard 2907.

The student will receive a special certificate
(organised by the provider - see sample in
Australian Standard 2907) which denotes level of
accuracy of 100% or 99% or 98% minimum. (A student
may gain a Certificate for 90 wpm or 110 wpm or 140
wpm but will be credited with 34 hours only [at the
highest speed] as specified in the course outline
(TE77) for the Associate Diploma of Business (Office
and Secretarial Studies) - A Electives).

Entry of results on computer sheets at the end of
any semester must show the highest speed only, at
the grades shown below.
