Description
To introduce the learner to hydraulic and pumping principles.
Range of Variables
Delivery to take place in a classroom/workshop or a suitable workplace and on
excursions to provide:
- ready access to a suitable range of the fittings in sufficient
quantity for the learners to observe the equipment and practice the skills
required
- access to conversion tables and flow charts
- ready access to sites with operational irrigation equipment to observe
and operate
- pumping should be treated as a minor topic - emphasis should be
directed to hydraulic and a greater amount of time spent on this topic than on
the other learning outcomes
To allow credible competency-based training and assessment the class size MUST
NOT exceed fifteen learners.

learner achievement.
The learner is required to demonstrate competency in each of the learning
outcomes in line with the assessment method shown.

- short oral explanations of procedures
- longer written and/or oral tests and/or
- practical demonstration of the skills required in the relevant
assessment in the final module.
