Description
To introduce learners to the concepts of preliminary print processes.

To explore any relationship between the concept of printing and traditional Aboriginal culture.

To develop a group of personal marks and symbols with respect to Aboriginal culture.

To develop skills in printmaking and experimental printmaking processes.

To identify and observe the importance of presentation and occupational health and safety.
Range of Variables
Intended teaching strategy to include:

The introduction of students to the concept of the print with specific reference to the possible roles of the print within Aboriginal culture.

The introduction of students to print processes and technology.

An expectation that students will attend equipped with basic tools and materials.

The bringing of an awareness of the respect and care of an environment and what it provides (this would include local organic environments from which some materials may be sourced as well as the facilities provided by the college).

The expectation that students practice all relevant aspects of occupational health and safety as demonstrated at all times.
Evidence Guide
Competency Based Assessment

Assessment based on learning outcomes and relevant projects/assignments. Assessment will include a review with written feedback. Final assessment will be conducted by a panel of lecturers, including the module lecturer, and learning outcomes will be assessed in a holistic manner. All works should show respect for the language and symbols of Aboriginal Art.
