Description
To provide a working knowledge of the operational
principles of magnetic and gyroscopic compasses, compass driven equipment,
compass correction and regulations concerning compasses.

outcomes attempted on completion of training.

Compilation of a deviation card using a deviascope or ship's compass, on
completion of the adjustment of compass correctors and compensators.

A written assignment covering magnetic compass adjustment principles and a
second written assignment covering theory of gyro compasses.
