Description
This unit covers the skills and knowledge required in the identification and safe catching, controlling of horses for the purposes of undertaking farriery work. Farriery services are provided on fully broken in horses and on “well educated” horses. However, the level of education of horse that present for farriery services may vary considerably. In addition, horse behaviour can be influenced by external circumstances and thus is subject to sudden change.
This unit partially covers the skills of RGRH207A Handle horses safely.
This unit forms part of the requirements of the trade qualification for farriery.
