DEPARTMENT OF TAFE DIVISIONAL ASSESSMENT

Paper 1 - Practical Paper (Divisional
Assessment) 80% Paper 2 - Standard Competency
Checklist 20%

PRACTICAL PAPER 80%

A practical paper of two hours' duration (excluding
print time and final copies) on the application of
computer keyboarding and word processing procedures
contained in this syllabus (no more than 500 words
total).

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

One Divisional assessment to consist of a
representation from the four areas below. Some text
enhancement must be included.

Multi-page document - including headers/footers,
automatic page-numbering and automatic date;

Merge - letter with name, address and salutation to
be the main merge fields;

Document-building - creating short paragraphs to
compile a maximum of two documents;

Tabulation - using different types of tabs to create
a table with three columns, three rows and column
headings.

STANDARD COMPETENCY CHECKLIST 20%

Students to be given a copy of the standard
competency checklist at the beginning of the course.
They are to be continuously assessed on the
performance of these competencies in the classroom
at the lecturer's discretion.

The purpose of the checklist is for the participant
to be assessed on the performance criteria as
required by this syllabus. Please see the Standard
Competency Checklist - Information for Lecturers and
Students, and the Standard Competency Checklist Form
attached to the end of this syllabus document.
