Description
To enable the learner to apply the principles of ecology in order to analyse
selected ecosystems.
Range of Variables
This module is designed to be delivered off-the-job for full and part-time
learners. The module hours should ideally be sequenced over a semester period
to ensure adequate time for skill and knowledge acquisition.

The role of practical and field studies in this module is to illustrate
ecological principles. In contrast, the development and practice of skills
associated with the collection, integration and reporting of environmental data
is emphasised in the companion module AAA725 Ecological Techniques. However,
any practical activities should still emphasise the importance of quality,
safety and team work.

Where field work is not feasible, or there is an insufficient variety of
ecosystems that are locally accessible, alternatives such as the use of case
studies, videos, and guest speakers should be employed.

Ideally, this module should be delivered concurrently with the module AAA725
