Description
To introduce learners to the two operations of calculus, differentiation and
integration, and the relationship between them.
The topic contains extensive applications to rates of change, optimisation,
areas under curves and the solution of elementary differential equations.
This topic is suitable as a terminal calculus unit for learners whose courses
require only elementary calculus methods and applications. It can also serve
as a bridging topic for learners who wish to study further units of calculus
but are not competent in elementary calculus.
