To provide students with understanding and practical
skills relating to the processes of thermal-cutting
and gouging, manual and gas metal arc-welding,
braze-welding and brazing.

Suggested Duration Guidelines

Section 5 - Cutting and Gouging Procedures:
8 lecture + 12 Practice = 20 hours

Section 6 - MMAW Techniques:
6 lecture + 18 Practice = 24 hours

Section 7 - GMA Techniques:
3 lecture + 9 Practice = 12 hours

Section 8 - Braze-Welding and Brazing:
4 lecture + 8 Practice = 12 hours

Theory objective examination of one hour duration
covering major objectives of all sections in the
following proportions:

SECTION 5: 30%
SECTION 6: 30%
SECTION 7: 20%
SECTION 8: 20%

Practical - Continuous assessment of projects is to
be in the following proportions:
