Description
To provide students with understanding and practical
skills in specialised Manual Metal Arc Welding in
all welding positions, and with all thicknesses of
material to the requirement of AS2980 qualification
of Arc Welders for welding of steels.

The student must pass the theory and practical
components.

Theory objective examination of one hour duration
covering all theory objectives. 25%

Continuous assessment of practical projects
completed (Ten projects selected by
Lecturer). 25%

Practical examination of three hours duration in two
weld positions as specified in Australian standard:
AS2980 Qualification of arc welders for welding of
steels - Table 2.2. 50%
