To provide learners with the opportunity to further develop skills obtained in
Architectural Design 1A, in the application of problem-solving design
techniques in simple building forms (eg. Single storey residential buildings).

Range of Variables
To provide a studio-based core subject which facilitates the integration of all
concurrent subjects. To extend the facilitation of a cognitive, as well as the
level of study in the area of architectural design, its application and
language.

Evidence Guide
Learners will be required to demonstrate achievement of the learning outcome by
progressive assessment of individual drawings submitted at the completion of
each major topic.
In addition, learners are required to submit at the completion of the subject a
major project folio consisting of design drawings for a given design topic.
Topics will vary according to delivery methods and regional emphasis.
-Access to a well lit graphics studio with adjustable drawing boards
-Outdoor site visits to complement studio work
-Pin-up boards to facilitate discussion and critique
-Audio-visual and overhead project and whiteboard/screen facilities
