This subject aims to:

- provide a sound foundation in Applied Fluid Mechanic
principles appropriate to operational applications.

- provide the appropriate educational requirements for the
subject area, specified in the Uniform Shipping Laws Code, to the rank of
Engineer Watchkeeper.

- prepare the Engineer for the subject Operational Fluid
Mechanics 2.

Supplementary Examination available.

A three-hour final assessment to examine all topics
covered in the syllabus.

Project reports and assignments to be submitted
covering topics from: Density, Pressure Due to
Static Head Discharge from Sharp-Edged Orifices.

A pass in both assessment components is required to
pass the subject.
