Range of Variables
This module is best delivered as a mixture of on-the-job and off-the-job
instruction or else by entirely on-the-job instruction. Since teaching
institutions seldom have fire assaying facilities, the practical component will
need to be taught in commercial fire assaying laboratories during weekends.
Use of such facilities will need to be negotiated by the provider with
appropriate mining companies or laboratories. The theory component of this
module can be delivered via open learning or correspondence materials, or else
directly by a TAFE instructor or fire assayer.
