Description
The Fashion Accessories unit in the
Certificate of Commercial Dressmaking
is designed to provide students with
basic skills training to enable them
to:

- Manufacture costume jewellery, scarves, ties, utility bags and belts.

- Develop design and fabric printing skills.

- Become familiar with items and products not normally
associated with apparel construction which can be used either as fastenings or
as a means of decorating an item of clothing.

- Construct bows from various materials which can be used
either as accessory items or adornment on fashion garments.

Guidelines for assessment of all samples and the
project:

1. Students will manufacture at least THREE different accessory items
selected from any component of the syllabus, to appropriately accessorise a
garment.

50% of the work must be done under the
lecturer's supervision.

2. A comprehensive record of samples of all required processes must be
completed by the student.

Project 70% Sample File 30%

A pass in both components is necessary
for an overall pass.
