Description
This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to identify and apply the legal requirements, standards and ethical protocols when selecting and using various methods of offensive cyber security to find exploits and report organisational vulnerabilities.
It involves understanding the nature and scope of potential legal and ethical violations and their consequences, and the obligations and procedures for reporting violations to stakeholders and/or authorities as required.
The unit applies to those working as offensive cyber security professionals, either within their own organisation or as independent cyber security researchers.
The cyber security team will apply specialised protocols and diverse penetration testing methodology to find and report vulnerabilities to organisations in various fields and industry sectors, with the aim of strengthening their infrastructure defences.
No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.
