Description
To introduce students to skills used by
welfare workers providing direct
service, working with groups or working
with a community focus. Students shall
understand the significance of report
writing and recording skills.

To introduce students to sources of
knowledge available to welfare workers
and give an awareness of the need to
integrate this knowledge into welfare
practice. Students shall become familiar with sources of assistance
available through the Department for Community Services in WA.

To acquaint students with procedures
used by the Department in making
neglect applications through the
Courts.

To introduce students to the significance of recording and report writing
skills and issues of privacy and professional competence in making use of
community resources.
