Description
This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to facilitate children’s right to access and participate in programs that enhance their development and wellbeing.
The unit of competency is applied by educators who provide environments, experiences and interactions that promote an inclusive approach and support children’s individual needs and capabilities. They support children who have experienced trauma and advocate for vulnerable groups of children to access their rights.

1 Work with an equitable and inclusive approach
- 1.1 Role model inclusive language and practices to children and other educators

- 2.1 Select and arrange materials, equipment and experiences that are accessible to all children

3 Create conditions that increase participation and positive outcomes for children requiring additional support

- 4.5 Provide creative arts experiences for children to express their thoughts and feelings
- 4.6 Engage with children in a caring manner
- 4.7 Offer comfort through individualised responses that meet children’s physical and emotional needs
