The following delivery methods are suggested as those most likely to achieve
the module outcomes:

- practical demonstration
- oral explanation
- use of charts and diagrams
- student practice.

Assessment is the gathering of evidence of successful performance.

The assessment should focus on the learning outcomes not on individual
assessment criteria. Assessment criteria are indicators of successful
performance of the learning outcome.

A holistic approach to assessment is desirable, ie. a single assessment
instrument may assess more than on learning outcome. For example, a workplace
project may assess both the planning and execution of a task(s).

Examples of assessment instrument include, but are not restricted to:

- practical demonstration/tests
- observation checklists
- oral questioning
- short answer written tests
- written assignments
- projects
- portfolios
- peer assessment
- simulations
- sets of questions based on the operators’ manual.

Results will be expressed as Pass (P) or Not Complete (NC).

The competencies apply to workplace activities associated with loading and
operating machines.

Work may involve individual and team-related activities.

Standards of safety, housekeeping and quality of work are as specified by
machine and equipment manufacturers, regulatory authorities, the workplace,
Australian Standard (AS) 4146 and, where relevant, AS 3902.

Laundry or operating procedures can relate to:

- manual handling and safe handling of chemicals
- quality control requirements.

Manuals and specifications include:

- chemical specifications and use
- washing machine specifications, including:
. manual over-riding technology and identification of faults.

Data recording can relate to keyboard or manual recording applications.

Machines and equipment can refer to:

- automatic washing machines
- manual washing machines
- washer extractors
- continuous batch washers
- weighing machines

Students will need access to the Bayview Quality Assurance Procedure document.
