To give the students an understanding of the principles involved in statics,
dynamics and fluid mechanics.
This course is intended for students in courses such as Metallurgy or Material
Science who do not require indepth knowledge of these areas, but require only
an appreciation of the principles involved.
It is not intended for students in mechanical or Civil Engineering, who need
much greater depth in the topics covered.
