Description
To provide learners with the knowledge and skills to contribute effectively to
the operation of a science laboratory or technical workplace. The module also
provides a basis for further on- and off-the-job management training.

Range of Variables
This module may be delivered either on-the-job or by a variety of modes
off-the-job including full-time study, block release and distance learning

be sequenced over a semester to allow the learner adequate time to develop the
required skills, gain access to a suitable workplace, and reflect on their
experiences.
Where delivery is by block release, the learner must have experience of an

of the module.
For learners working in an appropriate setting, it may be possible for the
module to be presented in distance learning mode over a semester period. The
learner would still require access to all reference material and necessary
