Description
To provide learners with:
Module 2/8: Basic Ductwork Joints
- An ability to correctly identify tools and equipment used to construct
ductwork joints.
- A detailed knowledge of the areas of application for basic ductwork
joints and the principles of ductwork construction.
- A comprehensive revision of sheetmetal fabrication techniques and
methods.
- A demonstrate ability to correctly construct ductwork joints to
prescribed tolerances.
Module 4/10: Welding for Roof Plumbers
- An ability to identify, maintain, use and store tools and equipment
used to carry out welding tasks associated with roof plumbing.
- an ability to correctly prepare metal surfaces prior to
welding/brazing/soldering.
- A demonstrated ability to undertake a range of oxy-acetylene and
electric arc welding, brazing and soldering tasks under conditions normally
encountered in roof plumbing.
- An ability to identify, maintain, use and store brazing and soldering
materials used for roof plumbing.
- A detailed knowledge of the requirements inherent in various welding
tasks for roof plumbing (eg: equipment, preparation, materials)
- An ability to weld in compliance with AS 1554.1.
- An ability to utilise welding/brazing/soldering methods and techniques
to produce strong, watertight metal joints.
