Description
This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to assist with the application of wireless communication in an integrated technologies environment.
It requires the ability to investigate the developments, advantages/disadvantages, applications and operational principles of wireless communication technologies. It also includes knowledge of radio frequency (RF) waves and the application of work, health and safety (WHS) requirements to minimise exposure to electromagnetic radiation (EMR).
The unit also describes the performance outcomes required to assist with the planning, building and testing of the operational functions of a wireless communication system.
The unit applies to a person working for an enterprise where wireless communication networks are installed and serviced.
The unit also applies to persons preparing to work in an integrated technologies environment and is suitable for use in a secondary school program with an appropriate level of supervision and support.
No occupational licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.
