Description
The objective of this unit is to
introduce students to the legal system
in Australia - particularly those areas
which could be most relevant to
clients. The students will be presented with the functions and
procedures of various courts to assist them in understanding how they can best
act as advocates for clients. Through this unit, students will be expected to
learn the skills necessary to advise clients on their rights with regard to
children, tenancy, social security, worker's compensation etc. Students should
be able to assist clients with making appeals and referring clients with making
appeals and referring to clients to appropriate legal aid services.
