Description
To provide knowledge and skills for the use and handling of biologically and industrially important organic substances.
Range of Variables
This module is to be delivered off-the-job. It can be delivered in either
full-time learner, part-time learner or block release mode. Regardless of
delivery mode the maximum time taken to complete this module should be no less
than 9 weeks.
For full-time learners, the module should be delivered over a semester.
Educational delivery should be paced such that theory and laboratory work are
integrated. Laboratory sessions should be at least two hours in length.
Additional time should be allocated by learners for reporting writing,
assignment and general revision. This will vary according to the ability and
prior competence of the learner.
Learners with concurrent relevant workplace experience should be considered for
recognition of prior learning, and teaching strategies adjusted accordingly.
Delivery in block release mode should be over at least a nine week period, with
similar integration
