Description
To provide familiarity with more sophisticated
rhythmic patterns through exploration and practice.

To assist students to develop a wide range of
practical skills, enabling them to become versatile
members of an ensemble.

To enable students to work closely as an ensemble,
and respond sensitively to changes in tempo,
dynamics and mood.

On-going weekly assessment of instrument knowledge,
sight-reading, contribution to ensemble and
punctuality. 10%

Individual sight-reading tests after six hours and
twelve hours of tuition (10% each). 20%

End-of-course test. 70%

Ensemble performance of unseen percussion score
which comprises rhythmic patterns covered throughout
the semester.
