Description
To enable learners to integrate and apply skills in chemical, microbiological,
physical, and sensory testing to the analysis of food samples. The module
attempts to stimulate the day to day activities of a technician working in a
food testing laboratory.
Range of Variables
This module can be delivered on or off-the-job.

However, it is essential that every effort must be made to relate all learning
to the workplace, irrespective of the mode of delivery.

The module’s learning outcomes have been deliberately sequenced to lead the
learner to an integrated view of technical work in a food testing laboratory.

For full-time learners, the module should be scheduled over a minimum of nine
weeks to ensure there is enough time for skill development and to enable the
linking of learning to other food stream and quality modules.
