This module is designed on the assumption that most of the participants will
achieve the learning outcomes specified in 38 hours. The length of time taken
to complete a module will vary, depending on factors such as teaching method
used, knowledge and skills at entry, and individual participant’s ability.

This module provides for delivery off-the-job.

Some areas of content may be common to more than one learning outcome, and thus
integration may be appropriate.

The integration of this module with other modules, for the purposes of
delivery, may reduce the nominal hours.

A range of methods are suggested for measuring progress towards and achievement
of learning outcomes in this module. The following definitions provide
guidance to assessors when developing assessment instruments:

- Oral Questioning: A response is provided to a series of oral questions
presented in order to demonstrate understanding of principles or reasoning
behind the action taken

- Multiple Choice: A question or incomplete statement followed by
several options (usually 4-5) from which the learner selects the best answer or
answers

- Written Short Answer: A written response item consisting of a
question/s with answers of a single word, a few words, a sentence, or a
paragraph

- Case Study: An opportunity to display problem-solving and decision
making skills is provided in a simulated context.
