Description
To introduce learners to processes and techniques of working with the body in a culturally appropriate manner.
Range of Variables
Intended teaching strategy to include:
Flexible mode of delivery to allow for camps, field trips, off-campus work and intensive project work.
Delivery of module by an Aboriginal artist where possible with specific skills in traditional Aboriginal themes particularly in 3D work and performance.
Involvement of stage 3 students in workshops working with traditional and creative installation/performance practice.
A broad definition of ‘performance’ to encompass storytelling, dance, singing, weaving and any form that involves working/performing in a space.
Encouragement of an interdisciplinary approach involving textiles and sculpture.
Learners should be encouraged to witness both traditional and contemporary performances.
