Description
This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to set up and operate a wireless communications link. This includes point to point links for a range of purposes using a range of frequency bands and may extend into the infrared and visible portion of the electromagnetic spectrum.
It requires the ability to plan for setting up a wireless communications link, set up and operate a wireless communications link and verify overall correct functioning and rectifying problems as required.
The unit applies to a person working for an enterprise where wireless communication networks are installed and serviced.
The unit also applies to a person preparing to work in an electrotechnology environment and is suitable for use in a secondary school program with an appropriate level of supervision and support.
No occupational licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.
